Ancient Egypt retainer sacrifice confirmed through skull forensics

Dr. Roselyn Campbell analyzed 46 skulls from Abydos using modern forensic methods, finding cranial trauma on 18 specimens. At least 39% of individuals examined show evidence of deliberate killing, confirming retainer sacrifice was practiced in ancient Egypt around 3000 BC to accompany rulers into the afterlife.
