Embryo-like blastoids lack key biological traits, Sydney study finds

University of Sydney researchers developed a computational framework comparing four blastoid-generation methods against a detailed reference map of natural human embryo development. Results showed some models captured key early embryonic aspects, but no models accurately represented natural human embryos, highlighting the importance of careful evaluation before drawing research conclusions.

Current models are not biologically equivalent to real human embryos, and researchers need to be careful about the conclusions they draw from them.
