Rain expected to ease Kerala heat as power restrictions persist

Kerala expects light to moderate rainfall through September 13, with isolated heavy rain from September 10-12, according to the India Meteorological Department. A low-pressure area is forming over the north Bay of Bengal. Meanwhile, partial power restrictions continue nightly between 6:30 pm and 1 am amid a daily shortage of around 900 MW. Chief Minister expects restrictions to lift after September 15.

The KSEB has not complied with a directive issued by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission two months ago requiring consumers to be informed a day in advance about the timing and duration of power restrictions.
