Madrid makes F1 debut as Madring replaces Barcelona on calendar

Formula 1 welcomes Madring on Madrid's outskirts this weekend, replacing Barcelona as Spain's Grand Prix host. The circuit marks Madrid's first F1 appearance since the old Jarama circuit in 1981. New venue challenges include logistical issues, recently laid asphalt, and low grip levels. An F3 test last month produced 19 red flags. Carlos Sainz warns the track resembles Jeddah, Baku, and Macau.

"I think definitely with the way they've put the barriers and the design of the track, it's going to be one of the biggest challenges in Formula 1 recently," said Carlos Sainz.
