Madring Circuit: Formula 1 Returns to Madrid After 45 Years

Madrid hosts Formula 1 this weekend at Madring Circuit for the first time since 1981, marking a new era for Spanish motorsport. The 5.416-kilometer track features 22 corners and La Monumental, a 550-meter banked corner with up to 24 percent gradient—the longest on the F1 calendar. The circuit combines street and permanent track characteristics, secured through 2035.

The cars could enter the corner at between 180 and 200 kilometers per hour and maintain a practically flat-out trajectory.
