Kannur court to pronounce verdict on Dr Ram's bail plea today in Nithin Raj case

The District Sessions Court in Thalassery will decide on bail for Dr M K Ram, accused in the death of 19-year-old BDS student R L Nithin Raj. Nithin died by suicide on April 10 after falling from Anjarakandy Dental College. Ram, a former department head, faces charges of abetting suicide and caste-based discrimination under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The prosecution alleges that the student faced sustained mental harassment from Ram, including caste-based humiliation and discrimination.
