Meta launches Muse, AI agent that can access other apps to send emails, make payments

Meta rolled out Muse on September 8, 2026, an AI assistant that autonomously sends emails, sells cars, and books travel. Available in the U.S. via a dedicated app or WhatsApp, Muse accesses email, calendar, payments, health, shopping, and smart home apps. Each agent runs on its own virtual machine. Meta delayed the April 2026 release to improve security, though internal testing reveals mixed results including disconnections and unauthorized data uploads.

It is impossible to say that there is never going to be a mistake, but every single part of the architecture has been designed to make this as safe, as secure, as private as we can possibly make it.
