Idukki man sentenced to 25 years for sexually assaulting minor girl

The Thodupuzha POCSO Court sentenced Baby, alias Raghu, of Kumaramangalam to 25 years' rigorous imprisonment and fined him ₹90,000 for sexually assaulting a minor girl. The court directed the District Legal Services Authority to provide the survivor ₹4 lakh in compensation and ensure her rehabilitation. The assaults occurred between 2017 and 2022 after a group allegedly promised her employment.

The abuse came to light after a medical examination revealed that she was pregnant.
