Chinese man rescued from Nepal tunnel after 10 days

A Chinese national, Lu Haitao, was pulled alive from a tunnel in Nepal yesterday, 10 days after a glacier collapse killed more than 1,300 people. He was the third survivor extracted from tunnels where authorities believe 900 people remain trapped. Lu showed mild hypothermia but no visible injuries and stable vitals.

I spoke to him at 7.30am before he went into the tunnel for work. Around 11.30am, after the floods came down, I finally got through and he told me: 'I'm trapped inside the tunnel.'
