Kerala govt to decide on PM-SHRI scheme after cabinet panel report: Minister

General Education Minister N. Samsudheen said Kerala's UDF government will decide on the PM-SHRI scheme only after a special Cabinet sub-committee submits its report. The previous LDF government had signed an agreement with the Centre to implement the scheme but later put it on hold. The UDF, which had opposed the scheme in opposition, appointed the sub-committee to examine the matter after coming to power.

"The previous government signed it and gave an assurance to the Centre that we would implement it. That is the background before us."
