One dead, one injured in Kottayam bike crash

A 23-year-old man, K Ananthu of Ponkunnam, died after his motorcycle collided head-on with a Traveller minibus near Elikkulam on the Pala–Ponkunnam road around 8.45 pm on Sunday. His pillion rider Abhinav sustained non-serious arm and leg injuries. Ponkunnam police have registered a case against the unidentified minibus driver under three BNS sections and are examining CCTV footage.

The front portion of the motorcycle, including its wheel, was reportedly torn off.
