Reports of privatisation 'baseless and incorrect': ISRO

ISRO has categorically denied reports of its privatisation, calling them 'baseless and incorrect.' The statement came after major employee associations wrote to Chairman V Narayanan demanding clarification. ISRO said increased private participation is about ecosystem expansion, not reducing its role, and reaffirmed its focus on frontier R&D, human spaceflight, and Space Vision 2047 goals including a crewed Moon mission by 2040.

'Eventually ISRO will not make any launch vehicles and that it can be done by the private sector.'
