Four Police Officers Suspended Over Custodial Torture at Kalady Station
Four Kalady police officers — two sub-inspectors and two civil police officers — have been suspended following a custodial torture complaint by Sujith Jayan, 32, a taxi driver from Sreemoolanagaram. An internal inquiry found he was illegally detained at the station from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on September 2 without diary entries or family notification. Ernakulam Range DIG Yathish Chandra issued the suspension order on Sunday.
