Accused who escaped from Kundara police station lock-up arrested near Sarathi Junction

A 23-year-old theft accused escaped from Kundara police station after officers inadvertently left his cell unlocked. Vaijesh, of Ezhukone Puthennad, slipped out at around 1.30 am while only two personnel were on duty. He had been detained over stolen wiring materials and unreturned power tools. Police launched a search and rearrested him near Sarathi Junction. He has been remanded in custody.

The door was inadvertently left unlocked. At around 1.30 am, he opened the door and escaped from the station, slipping past the officers on duty.
