'Bhaiya, please mujhe bacha lo': DUSU campaigner recalls pulling students from Satya Niketan collapse rubble

A DUSU election campaigner from Gwalior, Krishna Bhardwaj, was among the first to pull survivors from a collapsed five-storey building in Satya Niketan, Delhi, on September 6, 2026 — before police or fire personnel arrived. His team rescued four people. One student he pulled out, who pleaded 'Bhaiya, please mujhe bacha lo', later died. Seven students were hospitalised. Buildings in the area allegedly operated on fake NOCs.

'The rooms were very small. There were three or four beds in one tiny room, and the entry was very narrow. The building itself was very cramped.'
