Sunni Mahallu Federation urges critics to stop interfering in religious matters

The Sunni Mahallu Federation, affiliated with Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, urged critics to stop interfering in religious matters at a State council meeting in Chemmad on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. The federation said religious scholars' rulings apply only to believers who follow them. The statement came after criticism of Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar's remarks about women during religious celebrations.

Every religion had its own laws, practices, and rituals, and that religious scholars issued rulings for believers who followed them.
