Alcaraz shines on return, Sabalenka begins U.S. Open 'three-peat' bid with win

Carlos Alcaraz ended a 139-day singles absence with a 6-4 6-4 6-4 win over Roman Safiullin on day two of the U.S. Open. Aryna Sabalenka launched her bid for a third straight title with a 6-2 6-4 victory over Camila Osorio. Stefanos Tsitsipas upset 10th seed Arthur Fils, while Iga Swiatek, Amanda Anisimova, and Linda Noskova also advanced.
